Halloween Skeleton Decoration Ends Up Being the Real Deal

Can You Say Trick or Treat?

In a bizarre story out of Florida, Lloyd Sowers of MyFoxTampaBay reported that a couple purchased what they thought was Halloween skeleton at a garage sale, but the trick was on them when it turned out to be a real human skeleton.

According to the report, they paid about eight dollars for the Halloween “decor”, but got less than a deal when their purchase became an investigation into where this human skeleton came from.

Did Skeletor finally conquer Castle Grayskull and is now running loose playing tricks on unsuspecting garage sale shoppers or was this (gulp) an unsolved murder or missing person case?

Fortunately, in this case, it was none of the above. The authorities believe that the human skeleton was professionally made to be used in educational type settings.

It has not been determined whether any schools or facilities are missing a human skeleton.

A Halloween “Decoration” Worth Three Thousand Dollars?

Not only is the skeleton in question real, but it is also believed to be worth approximately three thousand dollars. With the economic climate being what it is, one would assume that an eight dollar garage sale find turned into a three thousand dollar find would be a financial treat for the Florida couple, but unfortunately the trick is on them once again as authorities will be keeping the skeleton. Can’t anyone get a break nowadays? In all seriousness, it is nice to know that nothing sinister has come out of this story, however it is a lesson that you never know what life will throw your way.

Aside from the skeleton snafu, looking for garage sale bargains for Halloween is a great idea!

Another interesting aspect to this story is that this couple initially had a great idea when they decided to look to garage sales for their Halloween decorations. Most people just run to the nearest store and purchase these items retail, however with so many people on increasingly tighter budgets, getting Halloween decorations second hand at a garage sale is a fantastic solution to both saving money while still being able to enjoy Halloween. It is possible to have some fun while being frugal.

Just be sure to closely check any Halloween skeletons before purchasing them. You may even want to look extra closely at any Halloween spider decorations as well.

Have a safe and fun Halloween!
